Here is a guide to help you begin or continue building your one year food storage supply. I was inspired to create this guide after a challenge issued to me in the spring of 2006 to live off of our family's food storage for two weeks. Those two weeks were a growing experience for us. We learned very quickly where our food storage supply was lacking and we tooks steps to make improvements and buy foods to fill in the gaps. I understand that it may seem overwhelming at first, but just take it one step at a time and do your very best. This site does not contain an automated system to calculate how much to store. I feel that if I gave you an automated tool such as an online calculator, you would not come to fully understand why we store certain foods and their quantities. So get out your pencils and get ready to do some simple arithmetic. Don't give up because it seems like too much work. You may want to spend a day or week on each food group in order to gain a full understanding of it. Get your family involved and share what you learn with others. I know you can do it!
